This neighborhood park is a favorite place to relax, and to be active for local residents.  It also attracts many visitors as it's home to the impressive Prison Ship Martyrs' Monument.  The monument, designed by McKim, Meade & White, honors the 11,000 patriots killed in the nearby Wallabout Bay (now the Brooklyn Navy Yard).
