Four of the Vanasco brothers served in the military at the same time. Mr. Roy & Jack Vanasco (2nd from left and 4th from left, respectively), two of the brothers, and owners of All Appliance Parts, located at 610 Myrtle Avenue between Taaffe & Kent, were honored today at Cadman Plaza, along with other local veterans, for their service during World War II.

Born and raised in Fort Greene, on Clermont Avenue, with a long history with the former Myrtle Avenue Merchants Association, which pre-dates the BID; and a long, distinguished career of military and civic engagement — we salute you Roy and Jack Vanasco and the countless men and women who served and are currently serving.

Happy Memorial Day.
