August 10th-16th, 2014 is National Health Care Week. The week is dedicated to celebrating the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers. Activities will occur across the country to celebrate America’s Health Centers and their “long success in providing access to affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people throughout the United States”.
Locally, we will join both Cumberland Diagnostic & Treatment Center and Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center on Saturday, August 16th for their health fair celebrations. Come by and taste a healthy, fresh and affordable recipe from one of our Myrtle Eats Fresh Community Chefs and learn about our Food & Health programming. You’ll also find great resources, free health screenings, fun activities for the kids and much, much more!
