Let’s Move, Fort Greene! Walking & Biking Events in September

Bike NY ride (2)_websiteLet’s Move, Fort Greene! Active Living programming is part of the Partnership for a  Healthier NYC, a citywide effort to make New York City a healthier place to live through four key focus areas: Healthy eating; Active living; Tobacco-free living; and Reducing underage and excessive alcohol use.

On Saturdays through September we will host four FREE Active Living events. Details and registration links are below. We look forward to moving with you!

Bike With Us

Use a Citi Bike at no cost, or bring your own, and take a ride with licensed bike instructor, Dahlia Ramsay, to Brooklyn hot spots! All riders MUST bring and wear a helmet and be comfortable riding on the street.*

TIME: 10am – 1pm
WHERE: Rides start at Citi Bike Station at Flushing & Carlton Ave
DATES:

  • September 20th –  ride to Brooklyn Bridge Park. Riders will enjoy a leisurely ride along the park path and see all that it has to offer!Space is limited, REGISTER HERE today!

*In the case of inclement weather rides are cancelled, no rain dates. Watch for an email from us as the date approaches.

Walk With a Doc

Take a stroll around Fort Greene Park with physicians, specialists and healthcare professionals from Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Cumberland Diagnostic & Treatment Center, Prominis and St. Joseph’s College Nursing Program and get answers to your health-related questions!

TIME: Walks start at 10am
WHERE: Meet at Fort Greene Park, corner of Myrtle Ave & Washington Park
