Farm to Neighborhood connects regional farmers with neighborhood retail outfits and restaurants. Local businesses displaying the Farm to Neighborhood decal carry local food products and help consumers make informed buying choices that will benefit regional farms and the local economy. Our goals are to:

  • Increase the amount of farm-fresh local products available in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
  • Facilitate connections between regional farmers and local businesses.
  • Encourage neighborhood consumers to consider local food alternatives.
  • Create a vibrant local and regional food economy.

Since 2011, the Farm to Neighborhood network has had at its peak 18 businesses and 26 producers. Find a list of local merchants who carry local food products by looking for the Farm to Neighborhood logo in the Shop, Dine and Visit guides.

Farm to Neighborhood  Events & Promotions

In the summer of 2013, we launched the “Dine – Support – Mingle Locally!” event series at three participating restaurants: Maggie Brown, LuLu & Po and Putnam’s Pub & Cooker.  Guests gained awareness of the local sourcing efforts that go into creating the menu items they already love, had the opportunity to meet the chefs and producers/farmers, and enjoyed delicious food and drink – all for a great cause!
