Fourth Graders for Food! Food Drive

The Fort Greene / Clinton Hill Community Food Council partnered with the Greene Hill School 9's classroom to collect food donations for the Child Development Support Corporation (CDSC) Food Pantry. The kids, along with their teachers, did an awesome job preparing for the food drive, getting the word out to their community and gathering the donations as they came in. In recognition of their achievement the kids attended a party at CDSC where Mireille Massac, CDSC Public Relations Manager, gave the kids a tour of the CDSC Hydroponic Farm that produces fresh vegetables and herbs for their pantry clients. They learned about how the farm functions, the crops it is producing such as Guyana Thyme and had the opportunity to plant lettuce seeds! Everyone had a blast and we look forward to continued collaboration!
