Fort Greene CSA > Subsidized Shares still available!

The Fort Greene CSA is holding a meeting at Fort Greene SNAP (324 Myrtle) this Wednesday at 7pm for any local residents interested in purchasing a subsidized share. Both the CSA, and CSA Farmer Sergio Nolasco, are committed to making their shares available to all community residents, regardless of income level. If you are a single person with income below $20,000 or a household with incomes below $30,000, you qualify for a subsidized share. If you qualify for EBT benefits, you are automatically are eligible for a subsidized share.

If you're not familiar with CSA, here's how it works:
1. Members purchase a 'share' from the farmer, that include 6-8 produce items per week (for veg shares).
2. The farmer delivers the shares to a distribution site, and members pick them up weekly for about 22 weeks (June - October). The FG CSA distributes at the corner of Fort Greene Park at Myrtle and Washington Park.
3. The farmer benefits by having guaranteed customers and income. Members benefit by getting fresh, organically-grown produce directly from the farm (usually picked within a day of delivery!), and at a lower cost than at most organic stores.

Subsidized veggie shares are $372 full share/$186 half share, and subsidized fruit shares are $99 full share/$49.50 half share. Fruit shares include 2 quarts of fruit per week! If you have any questions, please contact Annmarie Pisano - annmariepisano@gmail.com. Hope to see you there!
