BYF Seeks Teen Production Assistants

SEEKING TEEN PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS

Brooklyn Young Filmmakers (BYFC) is seeking two teen Production Assistants from the community to participate in our September 18 & 19 OPEN/CLOSE short film shoot at the Brooklyn Free School, 372 Clinton Avenue in Fort Greene (teens from the school will also be participating as PAs – all our cast and primary crew are adults).

The shoot days are 9:00am – 9:00pm. Interested students must be able to assist from at least 9:00am to 5:30pm on one of the shoot days (if they can do both days, even better). In addition interested students must be able to help out after school on Friday, September 17th 3:30pm – 8:00pm with putting up the café set for the weekend shoot. Students will receive a brief orientation then to prepare them for the shoot.

REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNS

--Must read the OPEN/CLOSE script and be ready to discuss it

--Understand that being on a shoot means a lot of time standing around and waiting for equipment to be moved and set

--When “All Quiet On The Set” is called and shooting begins, they must be quiet and attentive

--After the shoot, students must write a page of comments about their questions and what they learned on the set

--Everyone on the shoot must sign a Liability Release Form to participate (If under 18yrs a parent needs to sign)

TASK FOR TEEN PAs

- Grip work (moving around cords and stands)

- Assist Props Dept w/reposition props after each take

- Craft Services & Catering

- Script Supervisor (recording information given by Director and Cinematographer about each take)

- Errands
