Move About Myrtle continues this Sunday - 9/20

Our third Move About Myrtle installment will bring out new community partners, offering exciting free programs for residents of all ages. If you haven't made it out yet, check out what you've missed here.

Community Mural-Making with SONYA
Join local artist Ellie Balk and South of the Navy Yard Artists (SONYA) in a collaborative mural-making event! All paint and supplies will be provided. Bring your friends, children, grandparents, neighbors and be ready to get creative and messy as we add color and energy to Myrtle Avenue! This activity takes place between Hall and Ryerson on September 20th and 27th beginning at 11am.

Tree Giveaway!
In partnership with Society for Clinton Hill, we're giving away 200 (that's right, 200!) trees this weekend courtesy of MillionTreesNY! Stop by Myrtle between Ryerson and Grand beginning at 11:30am to pick up your small, potted tree - ready to be transplanted to your backyard! While supplies last, of course.

Dry Earth Performers: You+Environment+Awareness
Dancers from the ground-breaking collective, Dry Earth, will present excerpts of their movement-based research with a very special performance from noon - 1pm. Their work focuses on using creative movement practices to deepen our connection to the natural environment. Don't miss this unique expression of public art in public space!

Maracatu NY - Brazilian Percussion
Maracatu NY fuses the musical styles of Northeast Brasil with the rhythms of New Orleans' second lines. Check them out at Myrtle and Ryerson outside La Stalla at 2pm.

Origami Workshop
Local resident Karen Bishop will lead a free origami workshop on Myrtle between Clinton and Waverly from 11am-2pm.
