Myrtle Youth Mean Business

Last week marked the completion of our first annual Young Entrepreneur Mentorship Program. Seven local teens were placed with local businesses for a six week summer experience which included 18 work hours plus 2 classroom hours per week. Many of the teens were hired by the businesses upon completion of the program, and thus will be continuing on in an afterschool capacity.

We are grateful to the following students and employers for their commitment to making the first year of the program a major success:

(l-r in photo): Erica Leonard (Little House on Clinton, 150 Clinton); Shaquanna Saunders (Got To Be Healthy/ Harvest Time, 564 Myrtle); Sean Armand (Quiznos, 519 Myrtle); Wade Hayward (Quiznos, 519 Myrtle); Tiquanna Lane (Got To Be Healthy/ Harvest Time, 564 Myrtle); Raisa Brown (Soketah Salon, 378 Myrtle); and Jamal Clarke--missing from photo, Head Over Heels, 366 Myrtle.
