Local community members, and now a
new blog, are pushing to get ZipCar into our neighborhood. As you can see from ZipFortGreene's map, copied here, there's a big empty hole in ZipCar's coverage in the Downtown Brooklyn area, yet thousands of carless residents itching to join the car-share service. We reached out to ZipCar a few years ago when they first started service in Brooklyn, and didn't have much luck. But with renewed efforts by many local residents, and the large amount of interest on the FGKids listserv, we have reached out to ZipCar again to see if our organization might be of assistance in putting them in touch with owners of parking garages in the Myrtle Avenue vicinity. If anyone has any leads, feel free to contact us.
