![]() Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn PartnershipThe Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership oversees the economic revitalization of Myrtle Avenue in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. The Partnership is comprised of two entities, the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project Local Development Corporation (MARP) and the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Business Improvement District (BID), working together to assist the small businesses located along the avenue and improve the quality of life of the surrounding neighborhoods. The Partnership boards of directors are comprised of avenue merchants and property owners, local business and community leaders, universities, not-for-profits, and area residents. These two boards work in tandem to provide the vision and leadership necessary to maintain and enhance Myrtle Avenue. Staff:
Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project LDCThe Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project Local Development Corporation, often referred to as MARP, is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3, local development corporation incorporated in January 1999 and founded with the mission to restore the “Main Street” of the Fort Greene and Clinton Hill community to a bustling, economically vital neighborhood commercial corridor that provides entrepreneurial, cultural, recreational, and employment opportunities for all those who live, work, study or have an interest in the area. Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Business Improvement DistrictThe Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn BID was signed into law by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in November 2004 and incorporated in March 2005. The BID encompasses those properties fronting Myrtle Avenue from Flatbush Avenue Extension to Classon Avenue, and provides supplementary sanitation, graffiti removal, and promotional services to the district.
